• Has the way the classes are run changed since the COVID-19 pandemic?

We would like to give all our students a chance to continue training with us. Due to the social distancing restrictions, our training has been moved online. Weekly classes are now held via Zoom – sign up to the mailing list for links to the Zoom call. We may also be doing some socially-distanced training outdoors later in the term.

What do I need to do to start training with you?

Just come along to one of our classes, no need to book anything in advance! For your first class, please make sure you have the following:

    • £7 for insurance
    • A bottle of water
    • Some comfortable sports clothes
    • Before your first class, you also need to fill out our insurance form

I’m a complete beginner, can I still train?

Yes, we welcome students of all levels.

It’s now the middle of the term/academic year, can I still join the classes?

You can join at any point, however, we may not be teaching all the basics from scratch later in the year.

I’m not a university student, can I still join?

We accept everyone, regardless of university status. If you are not a member of the university, please to go the Iffley Sports reception before your first class and register for a yearly pass. You will need this to access the premises. The pass costs approximately £6.

I have an injury or medical condition, is it still ok for me to train?

Please speak to your doctor and find out if it’s sensible to do martial arts with your condition. If approved, we recommend you contact us so we can look into adapting the class to your requirements. Please note that you need to mention any conditions on our insurance form, and to the instructor in person.
