During term-time, we teach adult classes three times a week, each class lasting between 1 hour and 1h30. We will have a separate class for beginners, one for more advanced students, and a mixed class for all levels.
Although most of our students join at the beginning of the academic year in October, we welcome new students at any point in the year. We provide all training equipment, but please see the checklist below for what you’ll need to bring with you.
What you need to bring to your first class:
£7 for insurance
A bottle of water
Some comfortable sports clothes (preferably a red t-shirt and black trousers)
If you are not a member of the university, please go to the reception at Iffley Sports centre before your first class and register for a yearly pass. This costs approximately £6.
Iffley Sports Complex
How to get there
Bus: Stagecoach buses 3 or N3 that run along Iffley Road stop outside the sports centre. There are also buses that run along Cowley Road (1, 5, 10, 12) that are within walking distance.
Car: Turn into Jackdaw Lane off Iffley Road, then look out for the single lane right turn into Oxford University Sport. If using satnav, enter the postcode OX4 1SR. You can apply for a parking permit at reception.
Bike or walking: Turn into the sports centre either through Jackdaw Lane, or the pedestrian path off Iffley Road. There are multiple bike racks on the premises. Don’t forget to lock up your bike!
When you attend training for the first time, we ask for £7 to cover insurance costs. You can then attend 1 session for free.
The training fees are £45 per term, or £100 if paying for the whole year upfront.
